A course scheduled for next spring at the University of Wisconsin-Madison titled “The Problem of Whiteness” has received much criticism from lawmakers who now want to “pull” funding from the University.

The professor who will be teaching the course, Damon Sajnani, created the course around the conversation of “how race is experienced by white people” and how white individuals “consciously and unconsciously perpetuate institutional racism,” reported Quartz.

The course description begins by posing the question: “Have you ever wondered what it really means to be white? …the answer is probably no.”

Those who are against the course being taught claim that the course would suggest all white people are racist. Currently, the course is still scheduled for spring quarter at U of Wisconsin-Madison.
