Children’s Wisconsin Hospital to Ban Children Under 12 to Help Prevent the Spread of Illnesses

Children’s Wisconsin hospital is implementing a temporary ban on children under the age of 12 in order to help prevent the spread of the flu and other illnesses.

The ban will apply to inpatient care areas and starts this week.

“To help prevent the spread of the influenza virus and other viral illnesses, and to protect the health of our patients, families and staff, Children’s Wisconsin is implementing an annual temporary visitor restriction at both our Milwaukee and Fox Valley hospitals (as well as the Surgicenter),” said Chief Medical Officer of Children’s Wisconsin, Dr. Mike Gutzeit.
