This month, the Moody Foundation announced that it would be donating $100 million to Southern Methodist University to fund a graduate and research school.
The Moody School of Graduate and Advanced Studies will host post-graduate degree programs for Humanities, Education, Engineering and Arts. The funds will also help to support graduate students, create a research leg for technology programs, and help pay for faculty.
“We’ve created outstanding graduate programs, but we haven’t been able to coordinate and boost them for interdisciplinary research in areas that are new and emerging,” said President of the university, R. Gerald Turner
The new school is expected to open next fall.
