On October 15, 2019, college application fees for Colorado students will be waived for all 32 of the state’s public colleges and a few select private institutions.
“By eliminating this cost barrier we believe more Coloradans will seize the opportunity to reach higher and get the education and training they need to thrive in today’s workforce,” said Gov. Jared Polis, who announced the good news earlier this month.
According to the Department of Education, last year, when the state first waived fees for one day, students across Colorado were able to get 23,000 applications in during the free application day.
The state is aiming to improve the percentage of students that are applying to college and obtaining their degrees.
