The Trump administration announced this month that it is repealing the Water of the United States Act, which has protected the nation’s waterways against pollution from manufacturers.
According to EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler, repealing the rule was “at the top of the list” for his team as many of them believed the rule was “overreach” by the Obama administration.
The administration now has to come up with an alternative, but is calling the decision a “major win” for manufacturers, who felt that they had too many restrictions around protected waters.
