United Nation Environment organization is working to develop projects focused on climate change adaptation for the areas of Nepal and South Sudan.
The effort is in support of the Global Environment Facility’s Least Developed Countries Fund.
The objective of the projects is to help local communities cope with and overcome the challenges posed by climate change by embracing new methods of sustainability.
Irregular rainfall, for example, poses challenges in growing food, access to water, and the maintenance and of livestock. In Nepal, one of the main focuses for the project will be to develop improved water conservation efforts.
