Leaders in central Florida have announced that 100 previously homeless individuals have moved into homes due to a new initiative.
The Housing First initiative was designed to minimize high rates of homelessness within Florida and particularly within the central regions of the state.

According to the Florida Hospital, the initiative has helped to reduce emergency room visits by previously homeless individuals by 60 percent.
“Our region’s efforts to house our homeless population are another example of the power of collaboration,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.
