The Nationwide Foundation made its fourth donation in the last decade to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, to help fund its newest research institute.
The research Institute for Genomic Medicine, which kicked off a year ago, is dedicated to examining DNA patterns that could lead to improved treatments for major diseases, such as cancer in children.
Already the institute has enrolled 40 children and families for research.
“It’s exciting to see the advances that have recently been made to support genomic research, and it’s also heartening to know that many children are already benefiting from this work,” said Steve Rasmussen, CEO of Nationwide.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital will continue its excellent work as one of the country’s largest pediatric hospitals and research institutes.
