A new strand of canine influenza is impacting dogs in Florida and could potentially transmit to their owners as well.
Twelve dogs in the state have tested positive for H3N2, a virus that affects the respiratory system and can develop into pneumonia.

Veterinarians believe the recent outbreak in Florida stems from a dog show attended by the twelve affected dogs.
Experts advise owners with diagnosed dogs to keep their pet away from other animals for at least 4 weeks to reduce the chance of spreading the virus.
