In the era of the new presidential administration when protecting the environment has become less than a priority, grassroots organizations across the country are leading environmental activism and finding creative ways to counter destructive policies.
Citizen Resisters of Colorado (CRCO) is one organization that arranges citizen meetings with local and national officials. Another organization called Mothers Out Front organizes mothers into teams at both local and statewide levels across Massachusetts, New York, Virginia, and California, and is committed to allowing mothers decide which issue impacting their children they want to work on.
One CRCO activist stated, “Federal government edicts are not the last word! Groups like ours can change them or simply go around them.”
“These kinds of grassroots community groups with online reach are springing up everywhere,” reports Denver Post.
