After several years of criticism, the killer whale show at Sea World San Diego is finally coming to a close and will soon be replaced with “Orca Encounter.”
The new project will serve as an educational marine experience for visitors, and will focus on “research, education, care and respect” that aligns with the institute’s mission “to advance the well-being and conservation of these beautiful creatures,” Sea World’s description for the new initiative reads. The initiative is set to launch in the summer.
Sea World in Florida and Texas locations will be ending their killer whale shows in 2019.
