CoolMomTech put together this list of seven STEM education museums around the US that are great for children. These are a few of the over 600 Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) museums, that encourage both children and adults to indulge in hands-on science!

- The Franklin Institute: Philadelphia, PA
Includes 12 galleries, ranging from electricity to the human body; highlights include LEGO art from the Brick exhibit, and The Science Behind Pixar, giving children a look into the creative process of their favorite films. - CuriOdyssey: San Mateo, CA
Highlights include interactive exhibits covering nature and wildlife; gives visitors an up-close look at native, Californian wildlife. - Intrepid Sea, Air + Space Museum: New York, NY
“Kids go nuts getting to hang out aboard a real aircraft carrier, then sit in 28 authentically restored planes and jets of all kinds, along with a real submarine.” Includes a ‘Space Shuttle Pavilion.’ - Ecotarium: Worcester, MA
Features nature and animal exhibits as well as a highlight attraction – the Planetarium. The museum expands over “55 acres of land including woodlands, ponds, meadows and marshes.” - COSI: The Center of Science and Industry: Columbus, OH
“Voted America’s #1 science center by Parents Magazine”; the museum offers tons of interactive programs, including Camp-ins. Highlights includes special exhibits and resources for persons with IDD to cater to all visitors. - Fernbank Museum of Natural History: Atlanta, GA
Highlights include interactions with live animals, and a historical look at nature. - Arizona Science Center: Phoenix, AZ
“Features topics from Roller Coaster Engineering, to DNA Forensics, and Cooking Science.” Includes the Evans Family Skycycle on a tightrope for children and adults to ride!
