According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority is donating just under $1.5 million to 17 local charities and youth sports groups, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Phoenix, the Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped, and the Valley of the Sun United Way. The grant money going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix will go towards building a new gymnasium, reports the Journal.
