Video-Gamers Spread Awareness of Giving Tuesday

Piggy-backing on the momentum of this year’s Giving Tuesday, the nonprofit Save the Children plans to launch a donation campaign to reach younger audiences, namely video-game players.

“On what the nonprofit has dubbed #GamingTuesday, gamers and YouTube stars will encourage their followers — which sometimes number in the millions — to make donations and serve as a ‘life force’ for vulnerable children around the world,” the Chronicle reports.

This will not be the first time the global nonprofit taps into the gaming community to raise money. Save the Children raised $4 million over the past four years through a prominent gamer and YouTube star’s online platform, Gaming for Good.
