An exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art is encouraging visitors to touch art to enhance the experience of interacting with art.
An outcome of a collaboration between designers and brain researchers, the exhibit called “Speechless: Different by design” explores how people’s interactions inform how they process information and art. The idea was born from an understanding that we all interact with and process the world differently. Through engaging more sense than just the visual, art can have a tremendously different and transformative impact on the individual experiencing the art.
The exhibit consists of playful, interactive works that almost require visitors to touch, move and contribute their interaction with an artwork in order for it to have its full effect.
The exhibit will be heading to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta next.
