According to the study published in the journal Lancet, hearing loss is now considered the largest modifiable risk factor for developing dementia – even beyond smoking and high blood pressure.
Delaying hearing loss can reduce your risk by 9 percent, reports the New York Times.
Hearing aids could help to reduce the risk of developing dementia by allowing the user to continue hearing and processing information from the world – and therefore stimulating and working the brain.
