Washington DC’s Museum of the Bible is in trouble for holding onto antiquities that were purchased from someone who had stolen them.
Accusations against papyrologist Dirk Obbink of Oxford University, maintain that he stole and sold at least 13 biblical antiquities. The nonprofit organization Egypt Exploration Society saw photos of the various biblical texts and identified them as stolen pieces from their collection.
The Museum of the Bible in on board to return the 13 pieces, as reported by Art Net. The museum was established by owners of company Hobby Lobby.
