The renowned author JK Rowling announced a $18 million donation (15.3 million pounds) to the multiple sclerosis center at the University of Edinburgh, which will be used to enhance research facilities for medical researchers of MS.
“I am delighted to now support the clinic into a new phase of discovery and achievement, as it realizes its ambition to create a legacy of better outcomes for generations of people with MS and non-MS neurodegenerative diseases,” Rowling wrote on her website.
The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, named after Rowling’s own late mother who passed away from the disease, will be able to advance its research in the field thanks to the new donation.
