The Cleveland Museum of Art announced a new international travel exhibit on Pablo Picasso, set to kick off in 2020.
The exhibit titled “Picasso and Paper” will be the museum’s first large-scale exhibit on the artist in nearly two decades, and will feature more than 300 works from the artists lifetime.
Early works include sketches and light drawings, and focuses on unraveling his experimentation on paper through collages and cut-and-pasted papers, among other things.
Special works on paper will pose some challenges for art conservators who will work to ensure that the works are not damaged by lighting.
Some works will be exhibited in the U.S. for the first time in 40 years, and in the U.K., for the first time in 50 years.
