A new AI model developed by researchers at Northwestern Medicine and Google is able to detect lung cancer 5 percent more often than human radiologists, and is 11 percent more likely to reduce false positives, according to Venture Beat.
Published in the journal Nature Medicine, the study also found that the AI was 9.5 percent more likely to accurately detect lung cancer after screening.
Lung cancer is one of the top causes of death around the globe, claiming more than 2 million lives every year.
