United States census data indicates that more than 5 million children in the U.S. are living in mixed status households that consist of natural born and naturalized citizens of the United States, making millions of children the target of unwarranted discussions in Congress over the removal of basic benefits to children of illegal immigrants.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture met to discuss reducing access to food stamps for children who are living in the U.S. illegally or of parents with illegal immigrant status .
Across the country, several states have denied in-state tuition benefits to students / children of parents with illegal status.
Anti-poverty programs are likely to be the target topics of conversation over budget deficits, according to Paul Ryan’s announcement last week on “entitlement programs.”
