The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has donated nearly $12 million to fund computer science lessons for students.
The funds will directly benefit Code.org, a nonprofit that trains computer science teachers educating grammar, middle, and high school students.
Code.org hosts activities for students to learn coding and has contributed to the fight for diversity within the tech industry.
The organization recently announced ten million girls have registered with student accounts on its website.
Bill Gates has been involved with Code.org for nearly 5 years, and other technology based companies, including Facebook, Amazon, and Google, have previously contributed to the organization.
