The My Brother’s Keeper Initiative which focuses on helping young men and boys of color to succeed, is merging with the Obama Foundation.
When the initiative was first launched in 2014 by former President Barrack Obama, he vowed to make the mission of the organization his own – “not just for the rest of my presidency, but for the rest of my life.”
The Nonprofit Quarterly reported that the philanthropic goals of leaders in either organization overlap, making the transition relatively smooth one.
The $13M Obama Foundation is currently focused on its project to develop the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
