A couple in Oregon are fighting for custody of their children after they were labeled as having “limited cognitive abilities.”
The Department of Human Services removed the two sons of Eric Ziegler and Amy Fabbrini after a family member alerted authorities regarding Fabbrini’s behavior.

Psychological tests indicated Fabbrini has an “extremely low to borderline range of intelligence” while Ziegler was placed within the “mild range of intellectual disability.”
The couple, who have been trying to prove their capabilities in raising their children for more than 4 years, have garnered support from child advocates who believe Ziegler and Fabbrini can adequately provide for their children.
