“We need to figure out how we can encourage women to run for office and to run for president,” said former First Lady, Laura Bush during the Women Making History Awards gala earlier this week.
Bush, along with Hillary Clinton who was featured in a video at the event, both advocated for the addition of a physical building to the National Mall for the National Women’s History Museum, dedicated to highlighting the impact of female leaders in America’s history and honoring their contributions.
Currently, the National Women’s History Museum is online and hoping to land an actual site in Washington D.C.’s National Mall.
Once it has a physical building, the museum will seek affiliation with the Smithsonian.
