An artist in Palm Springs has created a gallery to bring attention to activist art and political activism.
Brooks Hudson Thomas’ series, “Political/Horror Flick,” is comprised of protest and propaganda posters which aim to raise awareness of current political issues.
The purpose behind Thomas’ show is to not only highlight current societal issues but to also make activist art accessible to all.
10 percent of the art sales from “Political/Horror Flick” were donated to the American Civil Liberties Union as a way to enhance activism on a national scale.
Art experts believe the current uprising of activist art could translate to more purchases of contemporary works.
