Almost three dozen major companies and start-ups from Silicon Valley joined a court brief in San Francisco that supports a filed lawsuit by Attorney General Bob Ferguson, asking for Trump’s executive order to be declared as unconstitutional.
Among the companies who have taken a stand against Trump’s immigration ban are Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Facebook.
Although Trump’s administration claims that the ban is “necessary to weed out immigrants with intentions of terrorism”, the brief argued that maintaining our country’s diversity and values by welcoming immigrants is just as important as national security. Companies have also argued that Trump’s executive order is threatening to their global industry due to their high number of foreign-born employees.
