The Sacramento Native American Health Center has begun a $3.8 million expansion that will increase its operating space to 36,000 square feet, expanding its number of exam rooms to 17 and dental chairs to 13. Supported by Native American groups and health foundations, the nonprofit only has $330,000 left to raise in order to fully fund the project. Once completed, the health center will be able to service up to 20,000 patients– a diverse clientele of disadvantaged Native Americans, as well as non-Native Americans.
