This past year alone, the Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP) in Dearborn, MI accrued over $1 million in grants to financially assist Arab-American nonprofits nationwide, targeting groups that change negative perceptions of Arab-Americans and foster leaders in the Arab-American community. Nine years ago, CAAP began as a division of the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services as its first endeavor in financially supporting nonprofits through grants. Over the years, the group has seen significant growth, expanding its reach by hosting events to formally recognize important Arab charitable organizations and Arab leaders in the nonprofit world.
