How can school campuses become more diverse and inclusionary for all students?
The new Executive Vice Chancellor at the UNC School of the Arts Patrick Sims discusses how the challenges faced by his students echoes the cries for justice across the country.
Sims, who attended high school as one of only a few black students, is encouraging students to share their stories of struggle in order to reach a more cohesive and supportive community.
“Seeing the students today wrestle with those challenges, they aren’t limited by the conventions or the constraints,” says Sims.
“They bring fresh eyes to it and fresh expectations.”
