Congress is increasing funds for apprenticeships to $95 million.
Apprenticeships are being hailed over a college education because the turnout for those in it is that 87 percent of participants finish their programs, compared to college students. Participants are also more likely to secure a job after completing their programs.
Over the last three years, the US has increasingly invested in supporting and expanding apprenticeships, including the creation of 75,000 new apprenticeships.
In countries around the world however, like Germany and Switzerland, governments invest billions in developing models that are affordable for more people.
