Countries that are in need for education funding aren’t receiving sufficient funds, according to a new report by UNESCO’s Global Education policy paper.
Aid in other areas has increased, such as aid for development, but aid for education has decreased in the last six years by 4 percent.
A senior policy analyst says that because improvements in education are harder to prove and require more time and “patience” from donors who are eager to see results, education has therefore become less of a priority.
This has impacted countries and areas around the world that are most in need of education aid, especially those with large numbers of students who are out of school and not receiving basic education, such as Sub-Saharan Africa.
