Forests in Tennessee continue to suffer from infestation of the emerald ash borer. The invasive species has been found in more than half of the state’s 95 counties, and tens of counties are also infested with Hemlock woolly adelgid.
The invasive species was detected in 2010, but has been nearly impossible to control, even with efforts by a Tennessee University that has bred and released an adelgid-eating beetle into the wild.
