The Obama administration is holding a $10,000 contest that seeks a new design for medical bills.

In an effort to help US patients better understand their medical bills, the administration is asking people around the country to submit a proposal and plan for a new medical bill design that improves the way patients interact with, and understand what they are covered for and a break down of their bill. The initiative called “A Bill You Can Understand” was presented last week by Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell.

The contest is sponsored by AARP and administered by Mad*Pow. Design proposals are due August 10, 2016.
