In a recent study published in Nature researchers at UC Berkeley used a series of brain scans to map out language on different regions of the brain, or as we know it – semantics. In the test, seven participants had their brain activity monitored while listening to 2 hours of radio stories. Researchers then took the brain scans and fused the typical responses into one three-dimensional representative brain software, that shows which regions of the brain are active with words from 11 categories, including: social, violent, bodypart, person, mental, time, tactile, outdoor, visual.
