Indianapolis Nonprofit Brings Art to Disadvantaged Students

The nonprofit “Art With a Heart” works to bring the arts to disadvantaged schools in Indianapolis that, due to budget cuts, are unable to support their own arts programs. Founded in 2002, Art With A Heart currently serves 2,000 kids every school year, running programs in libraries, community centers, and classrooms with the help of staff, volunteers, and “nomad teaching artists.” In its current campaign, the nonprofit is making its way into kindergarten classrooms to introduce well-rounded education and positive self-expression in the earliest stages of primary education.
