Bank of Georgetown Expanding Nonprofit Banking Affairs

The president of the private Bank of Georgetown, Mike Fitzgerald, recently told the Washington Business Journal that he plans to move into the sector of nonprofit banking, specifically targeting small to mid-sized entities. As a first move, the bank has hired nonprofit banking manager, Mary Anderson, who has 40 years of nonprofit banking experience, including work for Chevy Chase Bank and Capital One Bank. Bank of Georgetown has seen significant growth and currently ranks 21st in Greater Washington. Although the market is crowded, Fitzgerald believes they can provide an improved alternative to the current banking options available to nonprofits.
