YouTubers have helped raised more than $10 million in funds for a tree planting initiative called “Team Trees.”
The goal is to raise $20 million by the beginning of 2020, and already within a week of launching the initiative, these modern-day influencers have helped to raise more than half of that goal.
A number of tech giants and YouTubers themselves donated to the initiative.
The Verge reports that more than 500 videos have been made to push the initiative, and have served as positive content and proof that influencers on social media can drive positive change in the world.
