Indiana schools and teachers all across the state will be benefiting from a recent $47 million federal grant, intended to provide professional development opportunities for educators.
The grant will also help expand access to a program called TAP, which focuses on enhancing teachers’ own learning experiences, training and professional development.
Three school districts will split the grant and divide it to help expand the program and support teachers where they need it the most.
“Vast majority will go toward teacher compensation and professional learning. So we have about $22 million going to Perry Township, almost $10 million going to Goshen, and a little over $5 million going to Brown County,” said Candice McQueen of the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) CEO.
