The Metropolitan Museum of Art has partnered with two tech giants to envision how technology could play a key role in the development of the art sector. Microsoft and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are working with the museum to come up with ways to incorporate technology into the art world.
Some of the ideas that the partnership has come up with, as revealed this week through the Met x Microsoft x MIT Initiative, include “Art work of the day” projects to match patron’s daily moods with art works from the museum; and “Storyteller” project, which essentially allows users to speak into a microphone and have their words matched with images from the collection to reflect their words.
One of the partnership’s ultimate goals is to make art more accessible to audiences online and through technology.
