This month, a new wing at the Tacoma Art Museum will be opening to the public, featuring studio art glass, paintings and sculptures.
The grand opening comes after a $10 million donation from Rebecca and Jack Benaroya helped to build the wing, which is also suppose to house their donated collection of works of more than 353 items.
Overall the new wing will be adding 4,550 square-feet of extra space, bringing the museum to 41,000 square-feet of space. With the new donation of glass art, the museum will be “in the ranks of the great collections of studio art glass,” said David Setford, Executive Director of the museum.
The wing is set to open to the public on January 19.
