The U.S. nonprofit group Christian Solidarity Worldwide published a report earlier last month highlighting the impact of religious persecution on children around the globe, within academic settings.
The report focuses on discrimination and bias against children in Burma, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan and Iran and found that children of minority religions are often denied access to higher education opportunities.
In addition to being denied access to higher education, religious minorities are also expelled for expressing religious beliefs outside of the majority religion.
The report points out that children of religious minority are often forced into partaking in activities or are pressured into joining a majority religion by officials in their own educational institutions.
