The Truck Art Project in Spain challenges street artists to take their art out of galleries and put it back out on the streets, quite literally, as it once was intended.
Commissioned by Jaime Colsa, owner of the Spanish transport company, artists paint the large trucks with beautiful murals that are “fleeting” and very different in nature compared to paintings on walls, one artist told the New York Times.
Colsa says there is a waitlist for artists who want to paint the trucks, and interest in replicating the project has been taken up in the U.S. and Mexico.
