The William Randolph Hearst Foundation and the Hearst Foundation Inc. announced a donation of $750,000 to seven Northern California nonprofit organizations that support a wide range of causes, including educational institutions.
The grants include $100,000 to the Mercy Foundation North, $100,000 to the Smuin Ballet in San Francisco, and $200,000 to Stanford University, $100,000 to UC Santa Cruz, $50,000 to the Teaching Channel in San Francisco, $100,000 to UC Merced, and $100,000 to the Wildlife Conservation Network for their educational programs.
