According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical practitioners earn one of the highest salaries in the United States. However, research shows that less than half of the homes in San Francisco are affordable to even the wealthiest population living in the city.
Across the U.S., house prices are rising due to a shortage of space and because of aggressive bidding wars, especially in metropolitan cities like San Francisco.
Data shows that restaurant workers and teachers face the most difficulty, but households with at least two working people have more access to the housing market, compared to single bidders.
