Celebrating organizational renewal after a labor dispute that lasted over a year, the musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra have donated $250,000 to the orchestra, raised from money earned through self-produced concerts and gigs during their hiatus. The ensemble’s associate principal bass, Kathryn Nettleman, labeled the gift a symbol of the “new spirit of collaboration” between all departments in the organization, reports the New York Times. The money will be used to promote music education and community programming.
